Instagram: Connects with Instagram Login, so no Facebook Page is needed. Keyword replies, comment to DM and story replies all work.
Facebook: Pages only. Facebook does not allow any tool to post to personal profiles.
TikTok: Keyword replies go under the comment. TikTok offers DM automation through its Business Messaging API only in some regions, and not to accounts in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland. TikTok does not let any tool DM someone because they commented.
Threads: Keyword replies go under the reply. Threads has no DM API.
LinkedIn: Profiles and company pages, with comment replies. LinkedIn has no DM API for tools.
YouTube: Comment replies are supported. YouTube has no DMs.
Pinterest: Pins with their board, title and link. Pinterest does not open comments or DMs to tools.
Bluesky: Connects with an app password. Posts and comment replies; Bluesky shares likes, replies and reposts, not reach or views.
X: X charges tools per post through its API, so X is an optional extra.
WhatsApp: Auto replies can add a WhatsApp button that opens a chat with your business number.
Each platform decides what tools can do through its official API. Where a platform allows something, Clockpost supports it. Where it doesn’t, we say so.
Why can’t Clockpost DM people on Threads, LinkedIn or YouTube?
Those platforms don’t offer a DM API to tools like Clockpost. Where a platform only allows comment replies, that’s what we support.
Why is X an optional extra?
X charges tools for every post published through its API, with a higher charge for posts with links. Making it optional keeps prices lower for everyone else. It costs $6 a month for each X account.
Does using an official API matter?
Yes. Official APIs keep your account in good standing. Tools that share passwords or automate a browser risk locks and bans.
